Unfortunately that's not what happened. Mr. Martin did not lose his life just because he went shopping. He lost his life because he assaulted Mr. Zimmerman, and then reached for Mr. Zimmerman's gun.
Mr. Martin had a lot to do with his own demise. I find it difficult to believe that many commentators of this case frequently chose to ignore that.
