Fiscal Year 2007 H-1Bs are Fast Approaching!! Similarly, the 20,000 Advanced Degree H-1B cap was reached in January of 2006. We expect there to be a similar rush to submit H-1B petitions this year. If you have not been counted under the H-1B cap in the last six years and you hope to acquire an H-1B to work in an industry job starting on or after October 1, 2006 , you should begin collecting your documents and contact an attorney today. Beginning on April 1, 2006 , the USCIS will begin accepting H-1B petitions for the 2007 fiscal year.
