I had an appointment tonight so I had to drive my car in the snow.
I walked to my car and unlocked it, nothing weird happened. Good. I relaxed and told myself that maybe it functioned properly now.
Driving on the highway on a night of snow made me nervous. Let alone with a broken turning light and a broken window. What a picture! A sexy red-head young lady with her favorite white down coat and scarlet silk scarf drove a half-broken car on highway in dim light and heavy snow. Luckily, not many cars were running on the road, which helped me to get there safely.
The appointment was good. I was ready to back home. When I stepped out of the building, I was confident that my car was back to normal except the window and the turning light. However, as soon as I turned the key in the key hole and unlock the door, the alarm went off. I was startled. It was so loud in a vacant parking lot on a quiet snowy night that somebody sitting by the window in the building looked toward me curiously. I was really embarrassed to death because it seemed that I was trying to steal the car! “Come on, baby, shut up! It is not funny. Do not bother polices” I murmured and started to deal with it quickly.
First, got into the car and found my wrench, which I brought with me before I left home.Second, opened the hood. Took off the thick cords connected with the battery by the wrench.
Third, check every door had been properly locked. Leave the battery unconnected for a couple of minutes.
Forth, re-connect the cord and the battery. If the alarm went off again after reconnection, repeated step 2 and 3 until the alarm went on.
Fifth, started the car and closed the hood.
Sixth, drove back home carefully.
Was I like a technician? I told one of my best friends that being a TECHNICIAN was my dream and I would make it come true in the near future. He did not believe me and felt sorry for me. See, I was so talented! J
There is a Chinese saying: 实践出真知。 If my car were not a victim of theft, I would never know a second hand car parking in a locked garage could be a target. If the car could be easily started, I would never know disconnection and re-connection of the battery would be one of the ways to turn on the alarm. If my car had worked well, I would never bring wrench with me, which could be a tool to protect me from any danger on a night of heavy snow. J
When I was working on my alarm, a sedan did run toward me from behind with bright head lights. Before it was close to me, I smiled to it. My smile told the driver that, take it easy, I was fine and I was not a thief.
