情天霹雳啊, 下班开车路上得知, again favre shocked the football community. mr. #4 announced his career decision today: retirement. a heart breaking tear bursting news for his teammates, coaches and fans. after another extraordinary season 2007 reaching the nfc championship game and breaking all the individual qb records, when most people think it least likely, it happened. he has teased with that decision last two three years finishing with a 4-12 and 8-8 team record.
literally favre introduced me to the football, the most sophisticated and entertaining team sport. not his winning record, three mvp titles and a ring, not those laser point bomb passes and unimaginable shuffle-passes, nor his amazing bootlegs that made all the miracles happened, just his passion, persistence, confidence, consistancy and determination on what he has been doing, you gotta be an alien (undocumented) not loving him. the first game i watched from tv, my curiousity was triggerred by his acrobatic jumps to OL's shoulder after TDs, what the heck this guy hyped about; the first game i stepped in a stadium was actually to watching him. he smiled all the way when he threw an interception or made a fumble, even lost a game; only once he did not smile before a game, as i can remember of, is a MNF game, one day after his dad passed away, he led the saddened packers beating the raiders by striking four tds. after many of his games, i eventually figured out myself and justified the impact of a true leader. all the WRs, RBs, OT, OL, TE, etc, just everyone around him got lifted up and became a better player as he could be. of all the posters, i saved two in my temporal lobe: one he with no.8 young and the other with no.99 sapp.
to me, he's to football is like mj to basketball or tiger to pga. i ain't into nba for years and tiger will hang in there for a while (who just won his freeking 63rd pro trophy at 32). to be comtinued or not ...
nnd, 去年本想去lambeau field看他打, greenbay主场票太太太难买了.计划今年一定想办法去, 可惜, 来不及了.
