It is the hope that the earning will be ok for the 1st quarter, but it is not a reality yet, thus, to bet the money on the hope is just foolheaded. fortunately,at times, the majority of the investors are smart, as DQ can testify:), thus, the market ended little changed. it is tantamount to say, let's wait and see.
and they should not regret for the decision. at least for a day.
After the bell, AA's earning provide no boost of the confidence and then we had the news from AMD.
But the bull's cause may not lost altogether.
AA's earning is not as serious as it seems. revenue actually beat the estimation. and AA's representation of the market is limited -- it is more manufacturing than service.
AMD's problem probably is unique to its own. It is not the typical of high-tech at all.
So, I would believe, we may see more of the same tomorrow than a heave sell off. let's hope.
