Mother Indicted in MySpace Hoax Suicide

A 49-year-old Missouri mother who used MySpace and a false persona to torment a 13-year-old girl who ultimately committed suicide has been indicted on federal charges. Prosecutors, using a novel interpretation of hacking laws, indicted the mother on one count of conspiracy and three counts of accessing protected computers without authorization to gather information that would later be used to harass another MySpace user.
