just realized cc has very good imagination and story telling skill. not sure whether that is her born character or shaped by me. anyway, i shall work further on this.
meanwhile, her word recognition is doing very slow. i tried the english word cards. she could recognise "my", "book", "stop", "exit", "so", she already recognise these words from the story book. when i show her ten cards at a time, she could memorise them after i tell her for 2 times, then i remove them, and come back after 10min, she couldn't recognise them anymore. clearly she is not ready yet, or i don't think it's time effective to ask her to recognise words now. maybe i should try a month later.
she is doing fairly good at pre-school, the teacher, ms kelly is very friendly, smiles all the time, but i could tell that she is too young, sometimes i can't help to wonder could she understand children behaviour, she has no children of her own. anyway, according to ms kelly, cc has no problem with matthew, the other student from the class (there are currently only two students in the class, cc and matthew), they play along very well, cc has no problem for for handcraft and colours, ABC, numbers, but she has problem to sit down during storytime.
i was half expected this to happen, now it does.....sigh.....cc could sit down during elmhurst story time today (ms sarah), she could sit when i read her a book, why can't she sit when ms. kelly read from the book? i gently hint to her maybe because her book is too simple, i dare not suggest maybe something to do with her story telling skill/method. but this sure signal a need for me to check their website to see how is the class being conducted (they have a life webcam).
meanwhile, cc really likes ms. kelly, and of all the questions i threw to her, she never show any negative feelings towards ms. kelly. and she always tell me things she learned from the school (making sad, happy, mad faces), sings new songs she learned, and handcrafts she made. she is also very fascinated by the variety of toys in the school and always looking forward to play with them.
today, she told me her friends are only mattew and beibei, but according to my observation, these two do not show the equal amount of attachment cc has towards them. i could forsee her future dissapointment.
ms sarah showed a new game today. she showed the children ten pictures of different animal. she removed one of them while the children had their eyes closed. and she asked the children to tell which animal was missing. cc didn't make any guesses, not sure whether she is not familiar with memory game (now only i realize we don't have any memory game at home and very seldom we play games about memory) or she just have poor memory. but other children could make give the right answer, and this worries me. i shall check on this and enhance her memory.
but then she could remember things fairly well, she could remember which car suppose to park at a particular place. oh well, no harm to get a memory card game for a cold winter day. it's very cold now, only 20+F, below 0C.
