Floor: t-molding or end cap?

I want to replace carpet on the 2nd floor with laminate. Now I have a question on the vertical stand part (two pictures below)? Option 1 is to use T-molding in other places and quarter round for the vertical stand part. Option 2 is to use end cap everywhere. Can somebody give suggestion on which option is better?
