Thomas Jefferson, Founding Fathers, Government and Your Wealth

The topic seems disassociated. In reality, it is not. The vision of founding fathers, the government policy and your wealth are tightly associated if you care to explore.

Most oversea Chinese came to US without any exposure of US history. I’d often wonder how would they pass citizen exam without any basic understanding of governments and the principles of this country.

Yet, oversea Chinese carried the Communist’s education and mindset, believing and relying on governments one way or another. Some became critical of one so they believe the other must be good.

You see, our founding fathers were truly weary about the power of government no matter where and in what form.

Thomas Jefferson:

“The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. “

“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”

“A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government. “

And our founding fathers never wanted America to be an empire. Again, Thomas Jefferson:

“If there is one principle more deeply rooted in the mind of every American, it is that we should have nothing to do with conquest. “

If we care to review the current states of world, if we care to see what we are facing, we can ask if Jefferson’s vision for the country still holds true..

Our financial institutions are holding people hostage. Through inflation and deflation, the small elite group takes from the mouth of labor and bread that people has earned to feed into insatiable Wall Street and political and economical opportunists.

Our investment environment, thus, is facing historic challenges.

If one burry’s his head in the sand, satisfied with temporary personal gains on stocks, precious metal, commodity or whatsoever, he forgets the real meaning come to America: the liberty of people and wealth of the society.

After all, the true wealth are not about monetary gains, the true wealth is liberty of the people and happiness of the population in large.

Once we deviate from our founding father's vision and principle, the investment environment becomes hazadous. As the sovereign debt crisis sweeping around globe, it does not matter what you have or not. The turbulent of society is going to be with us for next ten years.
