We had a blast in St. Cathrine street in Montreal. Emily, Angie and the waiter played the PaiPalm ( need to check with Angie about the name of the game). St. Cathrine is in fornt of our hotel Governor, decorated with many pink balls. We intended to go to St. Laurence to try the famous smked sausage. So attracted by the pink balls over the top the street, and joyfull spirit of the people in the street, we decided to explored the St. Cathrine st.. After a great meal, we just randomly wandered in the street. Kids were walking and frozen like statues-- a new game the just created. An elderly guy smiled at us and said " lovely children." One guy just kissed the cheek of his friend, another guy. St. Cathrine is one of the busy streets filled with great restaraunts, no car in the street. We kept wandering till the light was a little bit dim and I also want to figure out where we were. I paused and checked the map. The same elderly man was sitting at stone at the side of the street loooking at us again.
" get lost?" he smiled and approached us.
" trying to know where we are?" I replied.
He cleared his throat and looked around, lower his voice a little bit, " I don't think you guys belong to this street. This is street for gay people, You have lovely family and beautiful children"
No wonder there is no children in this street and there are many man with man and woman with women together.
" what does gay mean?" asked Emily
" Man likes man, or gets married with man."
" Why? what happens when man marry man? ". My dear Emily always has many questions.
" well, it means that they can have sex together" Angie answered.
I was shocked, but without showing any thing. Glad they found more interesting topic. I wondered what is Angie's understanding of sex.
