False Alarm
Last night, I slept in my impenetrable bed, in my older brother's ex-room. ( Even though it’s now mine for temporary usage, it still has my brother’s clothes and textbooks.) The impenetrable bed is a small mattress with a sleeping bag for a blanket and a small pillow. The impenetrable bed is partially under a desk.
As soon as I got into the bed, I realized that I had a clearer view of the door and a much clearer view of an over-stuffed drawer full of... something that looked very much like my brother’s secret stash of scented lotion and Barbies.
At about 11:30 to 12:00, a large figure tiptoed into my bedroom quietly. The person looked like he was masked and wearing a striped shirt, so I immediately realized that it was a robber. The robber sneakily snuck to a glass container of polished river rocks, probably trying to see if there were any valuable items. I could tell that by the way the robber looked at his paper bag that it was full of precious but heavy items.
I decided to ambush the robber. I snuck behind the bed and waited for the robber, silently daring him to come closer. He seemed to have heard, because the robber started walking purposefully to the drawer behind me. I braced myself as the robber came closer... and closer... and closer... until the robber was within tackling range.
I sprang up from my frog-like squat and lept at the robber. When the robber tried to run away, I grabbed the robber’s leg with my hands and used my feet to anchor myself to the desk. The robber tripped. I hurriedly reached for my night light and saw a face I recognized.
It was my older brother, coming in to get his pajamas.
Oops.
