Spencer Tracy

I heard of Spencer Tracy through an interview of Katharine Hepburn that I watched on Youtube. And I started to know about and became interested in Katherine Hepburn after seeing "On the Golden Pond". I used to be quite puzzled about why Hepburn would have settled with a married man who had no intension of getting a divorce, since she was so perfect -- a true beauty, an outstanding athlete and prestigious actress with a brain.

However, my confussion was cleared when I watched Tracy's movies "Father of The Bride" and "Dady's Little Dividen". He looks so charming in the movies that I recalled the Chinese word 老戏骨，or "old acting bone", which means an actor who really knows how to perform. Last night, while looking for some interesting clips from any movie, I ran into "Guess Who Is Coming To Dinner", starring both Hepburn and Tracy. I was simply struck by what a harmonious couple they make!

There are lots of things that are happening around that we don't understand. But being incomprehensible isn't necessarily equal to being unreasonable. Most of times we don't understand something simply because it has never happened to us yet. And I plan to see some more Tracy's movies.
