12-Mile Run at 9:30

After 12 miles, I felt great recovering. Honestly, I started
to feel crappy after mile 10. At 10:30 pace, I was always
able to muster up some energy for a sprint for the last
mile, even for longer runs. But at the faster pace, I felt
much less left in the tank and couldn't enjoy the sprint as
much. But I'm very thankful for my team-mates for pushing. I
couldn't do it without them.

Again, my home-made iskiate felt great! although I think
next time I should have it before the run to save the time
to drink water.

One lesson is that always drink at the fountain at mile-6.
I didn't this time and started to feel thirsty (which is
usually too late) at mile 10.

We saw a skunk at mile 2, hopping across the trail with its
tail up like a black+white flag. Somehow when Ellen shout
out "skunk" and stopped, I was thinking of "badger" and kept
going. She didn't know and thought I was brave ;-) This
happened last time when I was walking another trail with my
son. I spotted the creature and he shouted skunk but I kept
going thinking badger! It was even a closer call as it
already was in position.

I'd better pay attention. Otherwise, one of these days, I'll
get myself into serious skunk trouble and had to bath in
tomato juice according to my son.
