After two years on the drawing board, D-Day was the most meticulously planned operation in military history - a logistical effort on a scale never seen before or since. On June 6, 1944, 3,000 planes dropped 23,000 airborne troops behind German lines, and 7,000 ships delivered around 20,000 military vehicles and 130,000 allied soldiers to storm five heavily defended French beaches in an all-or-nothing assault on Nazi-occupied Europe. Once on the shore, the troops had to negotiate two million mines buried in the sand, 46,000 fearsome beach obstacles, and hundreds of miles of barbed wire while dodging the shells and bullets fired by 40,000 German defenders.

Focusing on the most important strip of Omaha beach that day - the exit at Vierville-sur-Mer - D-DAY 360 strips D-Day back to its raw data to reveal how the odds of victory, in the greatest gamble of World War II, swung on what happened over a five-hour period on a five mile stretch of French coastline. Data gathered though forensic laser scanning, 3D computer modeling, and eye-witness accounts bring the battlefield to life as never before.

The 3D models they made for this doc are amazing! Wish I could 3d print a few out for my desk.?
bs the success was based on a logistic failure, and paied by countless lifes that have been sacirfied for no reason at all...the thread, technologicaly step ahead, (atomic bomb, airplanes etc) japanese garantiued fail, italiens already failed...every odd was against germany, it was  qustion of months when there had been years of shit past...?

So to see hundred thousands or even millions of you people, worldwide, have big interest in the events that took place on 6th June 1944 in Normandy. The day that entered history as D-Day. You upload video’s showing the fighting soldiers and their equipment. Till now all the tanks, amphibians, the German cannons and otherweapons could be seen in the Tank Museum nearby Juno, Gold or Sword beaches. Alas, there is bad news. The war museum is bankrupt and closed. All the objects from tanks to Tommy guns will be sold on an auction. In short time nothing will be left, except of the endless rows of white crosses reaching the horizon. Under every cross is a soldier buried that had scarified his life for the people in Europe to free them from the Nazis. Can you imagine that Vladimir Putin will decide to close a museum on the Battle of Stalingrad and sell all objects in an auction? Well NO! is a quick answer. The French government HAS NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS SHAMEFUL ACT.  Hollande and his governemt are totally indifferent;  even if it means that the soldiers had given their lives in vain.  They are lying in their graves already for more than 72 years. This is what they got for their sacrifice. ALL OF US HAVE TO SHOW THE FRENCH GOVERNMENT AND THE EU THAT WE ARE ANGRY!. WE ARE GOING TO FIGHT FOR OUR WWII HEROES. WE DON’T TAKE IT!.  PLEASE USE ALL SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS TO SHOW OUR ANGER.
