A Faux Pas

People whose first language is not Chinese might find the tweets (taken from

this post from WXC) confusing, as Tim did. "The Relevant Organs" seemed to have

a hard time deciphering the logic, although he/she might also be facetious.

 

As the original post explained, "Chinese Embassy in Ireland" tried to

defend China's so-called "wolf warrior diplomacy." But it also tried to avoid

appearing weak, after citing the fable to accuse the West of being the real

wolf, by adding the sentence "BTW, China is not a lamb."

 

That derailed the serious effort and rendered the logic ludicrous.

 

The lesson seems to be: don't try too hard to pack too much in one tweet.
