前些年，有一种很流行的观点，认为21世纪是属于亚洲的世纪。过去几十年来，亚洲取得了非凡的经济成就，一直是世界上增长最快的区域，整个亚洲经济体的规模，也将很快超越世界其他经济体的总和。同时在西方内部，也有一种反对西方传统文化的思潮，取消和摧毁西方文明的基础，鼓吹多元文化，几乎成了一种新的政治正确。如今，在中美对峙的大背景下，这些思潮会如何影响世界的未来走向呢？
