From Twitter/X: The first NIH grant I've ever written, with my dream mentor and dream topic, just disappeared. Eliminated today, just like that, thanks to the recent 'Executive Order on Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing' Hundreds of hours of work, just gone.Last but not least, I know a couple of Chinese MAGAs happen to be research scientists at WUSTL medical school. I am not sure about their job prospects as I don't know how much their jobs rely on the new NIH grants.
During the government shutdown talk, I argued for the pediatric cancer research fund a few weeks ago on a related topic (before Jan 20, 2025). But one of the MAGAs thinks it's a waste of money. Now I guess his job could be a waste of money, too.
