A Verse by Goddess of River
(Questioning the Chrysanthemums)
Nobody knows autumn so well, it seemeth to be,
Hands behind back, I whisper my queries to thee.
Which mortal-world scorner shareth thy hermitic place?
Why dost thou not blow at all-flowers’ blooming spree?
How lonely wilt thou lie in a frost-filled garden?
Dost thou miss the homing geese and crickets badly?
Do not say the world hath locked thy kindred away,
A few words with me, thou wilt surely find the key.
