91年：第一次造访父亲的故乡日本。
92年：拍摄林福地导演的「草地状元」。首张专集「分手的夜裡」发行，由陈升制作，主打歌「潇洒的走开」成为连续剧「鹿鼎记」主踢曲。
93年：拍摄「东方三侠续集」电影「蓬莱之战」，与杨紫琼、张曼玉、梅艳芳一起演出。拍摄饮料广告，前往香港拍摄新专辑MTV，第一本写真集「真心游记」问世。成为台湾「四小天王」，七月十三日於香港九龙大会堂举行人演唱「因為为爱你见面会」。
94年：推出第二张「温柔超人」专辑，与徐熙媛（大S）吊钢丝拍摄饮料廣告。与袁咏仪主演香港惊悚电影「沉默的姑娘」。接受NHK「ASIA
ENTERTAINMENT TV」专访。演出王家卫电影「重庆森林」、朱延平「中国龙」。
95年：专辑「偷偷的醉」发行，与杨采妮主演「堕落天使」。「重庆森林」於日本上映，金城武大受欢迎。参与朱延平「臭屁王」、「逃学战警」、「四个朋友」、「号角响起」演出。主演日本富士电视台电视句「圣夜的奇迹」，与宫泽理惠，真田广之共同演出。
96年：专辑「多苦都愿意」发 行。与丰川悦司、天海佑希直主演日本电影「MISTY（新罗生门）」，登上深受年轻人欢迎的「MEN'S
NON-NO」杂志封面。主演朱延平导演的「泡妞专家」、「火烧岛二人行霸道」。
97年：写真集「MADE IN
HEAVEN」发行。主演葛民辉执导的电影「初恋」与杜琪峰的「两个只能活一个」。成为日本「AERA」杂志、「朝日周刊」封面人物。拍摄日本生活信用卡、拍摄汽车广告，国片「天涯海角」、「神偷碟影」、「安娜玛德连娜」
98年：获邀成为国际服饰PRADA、日本亚细亚航空JAA「台湾之美」代言人。主演电影「不夜城」、富士电视台电视剧「神啊，请再多给我点时间」。据四月份日本「报知体育」杂志报道，与木村拓哉、反町隆史、竹野内丰并列为為「今年最受注目的男星」。
2000年：新电影『太空旅人』在日上映，日本影迷连夜排队购票，争睹偶像风彩。
