A good weekend

My friend and I went to Chinatown in Manhattan to see the Chinese New Year parade last Sunday. It was quite a lot of fun seeing confetti flying between buildings and falling down around our heads and shoulders. I love those colorful and glittering streamers. It makes a holiday very special and unforgettable.

After it, we headed to BestBuy at 23rd street and 6 Ave for a laptop that was on sale at $433. The same stuff was around $480 in New Jersey and all were sold out. So we decided to try our luck in the City. At first, we were told that no more available at this store, but another store in Layfaty street still had many in stock. We called them to confirm the information and tried to reserve one. They ascertained us, but didn't accept any reservation because of the "first come, first serve" rule. So we rushed to the store as soon as possible. However, at the moment we arrived, the last one was sold to a Chinese man. We questioned sales person about the attractive amount that was told on the phone. He said that 13 were sold in 12 minutes. Other customers, who waited in line for almost an hour, had to leave with empty hands. They were angry and complained about the service. No one took cares of them and sales person didn't announce how many laptops were available and how many customers were waiting in the line. But it didn't help at all. "No" was the final answer.  Although others left disappointedly, we didn't give up so easily. We walked around to check if there was a display model for sale. Can't imagine how lucky we were. We found 4 brand new sitting in a case. So each of us bought one. We were very happy about it!
