On the website I analyzed why people couldn’t move on after breakup. I always wonder whether these people have a strong masochistic tendency.
People with little knowledge in psychology may consider masochism sick or abnormal. There are sexual sadists and masochists who enjoy physically (and psychically) torturing and being tortured in sex. This, however, is controversial to be considered perversion, as many people still don’t accept gay marriage. Anyway, this isn’t the issue we’ll discuss about. Masochism refers to those who enjoy and look for own suffering on nonsexual context.
Are we human beings looking for pleasure or pain?
Don’t think this is an easy question. Consciously, we all look for pleasure and avoid pain. Unconsciously, however, we strive for pain at the same time.
Disagree? Then tell me why those people are willing to suffer after the relationship has broken off. They keep torturing themselves by drinking excessively, injuring themselves and even committing suicide.
Tell me again why many people like to stay in the company where they are often bullied and humiliated by their malicious bosses or co-workers. And why so many people are willing to voluntarily accept a variety of sacrifices, shame and humiliation in order to have “a better life.”
Don’t tell me they don’t have other options. Oh, please, that’s not true. We all have choices to choose for our life journey. Everything we’re doing is our choice, unless someone forces you to do something against your wish.
No need to explain why most of us are masochists in here. It’s just too lengthy.
So until next time, you might need to rethink your life, if you truly want to be happy.
