It is pretty common for a restaurant employee to steal CC information because it is so easy, but it may be hard for you to find out who - if the amount of money the credit card company lost is not substantial, they usually just write it off without even investigating it.I recommend you put fraud alert on your credit report immediately in case the thief already sold your identify information. Also monitor your report closely in the next few months to see if new account is opened under your name. Just yesterday a person posted on a forum that his wife is being sued by collection agency, because someone used her name to apply for a new credit card and never paid the bill. If ID theft does occur in your case, file a police report and also notify FCC, which will be proof that you're a victim. For step-by-step instructions on how to do the above, visit http://triceiver.com/IDTheft.aspxHope everything is fine and good luck to you!> Date: Fri, 27 Apr 2007 16:25:23 -0700> From: gpcrman@yahoo.com> To: cssa@ucsd.edu> Subject: [CSSA] Credit Card information stolen after paying the bill at some buffet restaurant ?> > Dear all:> I am sorry to bother any one who is not interested in> this topic.
