Wall st is full of liars and crooks. Bull or bear it dones't matter. You play this game by their rules. Bottom line is there are no rules. ---copied from Yahoo message board.
This morning, WSJ reported that Microsoft and Yahoo! are in talk to make a $50B deal. Before that, YHOO has a market capital of $38B. YHOO jumped as high as $34 before the market open. In the afternoon, WSJ said that the talk is no longer active.... YHOO closed at about $30.60. Both bulls and bears may have made money. But who got hurt? I guess the saddes ones are those who covered the short position and flipped to the long side this morning
In passing, it was rumopred that MSFT would buy EABY one year ago. It turned out not to be true. Of course, some guys got burned.
Journalists are enthusiastic at reporting M & A deals. Their words should not be followed without a doubt.
