Just back from PV last night. Have a great week over there but diving was terrible :(
Went out with some local fishman on second morning when we were there, we went to north of Punta Mita, there is no bird action at all. Checked few buoy and nothing looks exciting, we were diving in some reef about 50 feet deep, visibility was only like 20 to 25 feet. Saw few small pargo, like only around 5lb. We only end up with few conch, trigger fish, porrat fish for dinner. We gave the fishman some extra money to get a few of their freshly caught losbters too.
The fishman(with bigger boat) my diving buddy used before to go to Roca Cobetena was booked this time by another group of diver, so every night we will go to their place to check the diving condition, and they told us the rain make the water very green and murky(around 30 feet viz) even in Cobetena, so basically not worth to go there, and we found we got free access of kayak from our home association, so for the next few days, we just went out using kayak and do some local reef diving, only shoot couple of fish each time for dinner. And the diving condition was getting worse and worse, the day we left, viz was less than 10 feet.
But anyday in the water is better day than in the office.
We will go back when rain season is over, we are still in the learning curve of PV diving.
