大江歌罷掉頭東 – 周恩來

 

大江歌罷掉頭東，邃密羣科濟世窮。

面壁十年圖破壁，難酬蹈海亦英雄。

 

A Quatrain by Zhou Enlai

 

As the song of Yangtze River ends, I hie east

To study science to save backward China in pieced.

The Wall I’ve faced for years, for a Way to break It,

Which may drown me... but it’s a gallant Way at least.
