彼采葛兮，
一日不见，
如三月兮。
She went off to pick kudus vine,
Out of the sight of mine,
One day feels like three months, I whine
彼采萧兮，
一日不见，
如三秋兮。
She went off to reap mugwort herbs,
Nothing my yearning curbs
One day like three falls, which disturbs
彼采艾兮，
一日不见，
如三岁兮。
She went off to glean herbal grass,
Out of my sight, Oh, lass,
One day feels like three years, alas!
