?The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has been electing Fellows since 1874, honoring individuals for their distinguished contributions to science and technology. While the exact total number of Fellows elected over this extensive period isn't readily available, recent classes provide some insight into the scale of this recognition. For instance, the 2024 class (417); the 2023 class included 502 scientists, engineers, and innovators from around the world. Similarly, the 2022 class comprised 508 individuals. The fellows will receive a certificate and a gold (science)-and-blue (engineering) rosette pin, symbolizing science and engineering, respectively, to commemorate their election.
