now that jeffery has won!

how remarkable and incredible!

there were moments when i genuinely felt that uli would and should win. at the end of day, her garments were all so beautiful and flowy and i totally concurred with heidi when she said that she would buy everything that uli made.

anyway, let me back up and describe, no details spared, this roller coaster called my interaction with project runway season 3 finale.

it all started this tuesday. frantic to get a sense of what's going to happen, i watched the finale sneak peak on the windows media player. 2/3rd into the preview, there was no scene of jeffery, whatsoever. i was fuming! did that laura get her way and had jeffery kicked out? scandalous! unbearable! end of the world! i'm gonna boycott the PR at this minute!

basically hell broke loose. then not wanting to give up completely just yet, i did a blanket google search on jeffery and based on the bits and pieces i came across, it seems that jeffery might just still be in. if nothing else, the official project run blog did say that jeffery had his garments shown in olympic fashion week along with the other three.

(btw, in my search, i came across this geniusly hilarious blog called four four (fourfour.typepad.com). it has a few truly amazingly grabbing posts on PR.)

now fast forward to yesterday. i went to work out first and i was not sure whether i should watch the PR on time or catch it later AFTER i find out the results. truth be told, i cringed at the prospect of having to watch laura bitch about jeffery on & on and then watch him being booted.

(luckily) in the end, my curiosity won, and i tuned in 4 minutes after the hour.

and i saw jeffery! along with the others! phew!

of the four runway shows, i enjoyed uli's the most. i thought her clothes beautiful, flattering and i like the combo of her music and her clothes. plus her models seemed to walk better.

jeffery's is my second favorite actually. his style is .... alternative, both his clothes and his music. he has a few very spectacular pieces. but his show is the one most in tune with the ones put together by very accomplished designs whose styles often elude than capture our comprehension. okay, all i'm trying to say is that his stuff seems coming from a fashion designer, vs. clothes designer. he has already got his style and at the same time he's demonstrating phenomenal potential. jmo, i thought among all three seasons' winners, he is the most comprehensive and sophisticated. oh btw, is it just me or some of his models couldn't even walk?!

laura's clothes are very very laura. she has a few good pieces too, though. but mind you, i could not remember whether her show had any music. it's all very ... bland.

mike's ensemble is not impressive. i thought vincent's remark of amateur fits well here. his theme was supposed to be safari. did NOT get that. i thought both his clothes and his music are light-metal-ish.

so i had my own take on the show. basically, i though uli would win and jeffery would probably be second. and I thought that kind of outcome wouldn't be unfair.

and boy was i happily surprised.

i will have to say that uli is such a graceful person. no mean bones in her body!

(i'll see if i can get some pics this eve.)
