Mac OS X 10.5 - LeopardAlthough it won't be in stores until autumn 2007, Steve Jobs has given the world a preview of the next Apple operating system. At the Worldwide Developers Conference 2006 in San Francisco, Apple CEO Steve Jobs gave the public and developers the first public look at Leopard, also known as Mac OS X 10.5 -- the next version of the Apple operating system, which will be available next autumn. Though he made clear there remained many "top secret" features and technologies to the OS, Jobs and other Apple executives outlined a dozen features that will be new and improved over the current OS.
