Since I had a mini-tournament an hour away last Thursday which required me to leave pretty early after work, I picked up Evan from the daycare and gave him to Daddy at home. The two of them then went to pick up Olivia from a field trip. The kids didn’t get to see me until next morning.

So Friday morning, I bumped into Evan upstairs as he was wobbling out of his room with his eyes barely open. I said hi. He walked over, wrapped his arms around my legs and leaned his entire body on me and said: “Mommy, I never get to see you anymore.”

Oh, honey, you just saw me yesterday afternoon, remember? :)

Later Daddy told me that after they picked up Olivia from the YMCA, he started the car and tried to get out of the parking lot which was really crowded.

Olivia noticed that Evan was not buckled yet so she cried out: “Evan is not buckled! Evan, buckle yourself otherwise the policeman is going to arrest you.”

Evan cried to Daddy: “Wait, Daddy! Do you want me to go to jail? (To him, if the policeman gets you, no matter for what, you are going to the jail) I don’t want to go to jail. If I go to jail, I will never see mommy again.”

Oh, what can I say, even though I don’t want him to be so attached to me, sometimes he just melts my heart:).
