Coco the multi-poo is safe at home thanks to the efforts of two Victoria bicycle cops.
The little dog was reported missing about 3:15 p.m. yesterday after her owner left her tied up for a few minutes outside a Pandora Avenue store, near Quadra Street. Witnesses gave a good description of a man and a woman seen taking the dog, and the two officers began to comb the area.
After 45 minutes, a 57-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman -- a father and daughter known to frequent the downtown streets -- were spotted with Coco. The woman tried to conceal the dog under a blanket when police approached.
The father was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date, while the daughter was held in custody for a court appearance this morning on an unrelated warrant. Both face theft charges in relation to yesterday's incident.
