Liver Detoxification

Passion to life is like wings to the airplanes. Only when the arms of passion open up, the flight of life take off.

Bobo has been very proud of her own creation this past few days:  Being mad is better than being bored, she would say.  To illustrate her points, she waves her fists, clenches the teeths, rounds her eyes to make a rather dramatic expression.   This is how she explains her point: you get to do something (which can be fun) when you are mad.   But when you are bored, you can't do anything.  She is proud that she sees something positive out of a bad scenario, and she is comforting herself with it.
I don't think I ever get bored.  I  actually have the opporsite problem sometimes -- I have more ideas starting than I can finish.  Right now, I'm going through a liver detoxification diet.  Of course, when one of the skinnest person in the company is on a diet, it's joke in the town for co-workers.  Unlike what most people think when they hear diet, this diet is not necessarily for loosing weight.  It's to give your body a chance to heal and detox.  I have often wanted to try fasting, a practice used in so many cultures for so long, there must be some benefit to it besides loosing a few pounds.  I didn't want to start something without a doctore's supervision.  This time though, my acupuncture doctor, an Indian lady, is monitoring the process for me and a couple of her other patients.
It started out with an acupuncture session.  For two weeks, I am to eat only the listed couple dozens of food, mostly veggies and totally stay away from most common food.  Here are the two lists.

Not to Eat:  All oil, salt, spices, fruits, sugar, corn, soy, dairy products and whatever else that's not on the to eat list.
To Eat Only: beans, brown rice, sweet potato, kale, chard, cucumber, pineapple, spinach, cilantro, pasley, Bragg's liquid amino and vinega. Based on the dieter's blood type, there maybe a few extra items allowed.  In my case, I can have chicken, and supposedly wild caught cod.
For the last week, I have been eating brown rice, blanched vegetable, chicken soup, sweet potato.  It turns out even Bobo likes some of my food.  Bobo does not like her food to have too complex or heavy flavors.  My simple diet fits her preference well.

As for myself, the first  day was  a long day with a lot of hungry moments.  The second day, I started to cook a lot of chicken broth, and ended up eating a lot of chicken.  On the third night, I notice I was very energetic.  The biggest the challenge I had was to have a snack where I can munch on when I am hungry.  With a diet like this, there was no processed food available that meets the criteria, so I thought.  On the fifth day, I added some wild caught cod, supposedly allowed for my blood type, with my diet some simple, it was clear to me the added fish caused a lot of reaction in my body: itchy skin, breakup on my face, tired legs in the morning, and most importantly stuffy nose.
It turns out one can have some variety with only these ingredients.  There is the sweet potato noodles, and mung bean thread that can take the place of brown rice.  Veggies tastes amazingly acceptable with just simple blanching and adding some bragg's liquid amino.  Bobo love it too.

Tomorrow, I plan to set up an appointment for colonic, and have my colon cleaned for the first time.  I hope it is not too uncomfortable.  I plan to keep a rather simple diet after the fourteen day period, and add the food one by one to find out other food that my body is sensitive to like the fish.
