There’re some buzzwords floating around saying Robert De Niro may get nominated this year for his role in the upcoming movie, Everybody’s Fine (sounds like a light-hearted dramedy). Well, nomination aside, he does look different in this movie trailer from all the parts he played in the past years, during which he seemed to have not taken on any serious role for a long time. When was his last role that bears the landmark significance in the cinema history – Heat, Cape Fear, or may be even farther back to Raging Bull and Deer Hunter? I am sure I'm not the only one out there who miss those iconic images he presented on the big screen during his prime years.
Wish him good luck!

Oh no. It was just something I read on Internet. I personally don’t think he will get it as usually awards don’t favor a comedy-type movie, anyway. Nor do I think he would care given that he’s won various awards and nominations numerous times.

Starting from Analyze This, De Niro successfully turned himself, from a master of method acting, into a comedian who climaxed his comedic skills in the Meet The Parents franchise and enjoyed the great commercial success. Yet for many of De Niro’s fans across nations, that may not be something in him they are looking for.
Oh well, he is at least doing better, career wise, than many of his contemporaries, like Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson, Dusting Huffman.

Is this another prediction :)) I think you did pretty well last year on Mickey Rourke?!

Seems a good movie and match my taste. Will watch it for sure.
his name reminds me of "meet the parents" and "shark tale" though he only contributed his voice in the latter.
