失约／迟缴费的可能后果

电话预约忘了cancel，被威胁要负全部费用，否则上法庭。

We scheduled a home inspection appointment but forgot to cancel. The inspector said we will be responsible for all the fees, even though the service is not provided, otherwise he will sue us on the court.
We haven't signed anything for the inspection service and all he has is our address and telephone.
Can he really sue us?

right, you can ignore it, and the guy has no way to accuse you.
But,if you are an honest man, I think you should pay a small fee to the inspector and say sorry. Because you waste his time and time is his money, he need it to feed his family.
Many American think A lot of Chinese are cheater and are irresponsible. I don't think so. But I guess that inspector'll tell his friends and all other guys: don't believe the CHINESE, they CAN'T be trust.

Take it easy, buddy.
I admit it's my fault(I totally forgot the thing) and I apologized.
I also said I am willing to pay some penalty but not the entire fee for the service since it is not provided.

接到法庭传单：fail to pay rent,我12月中旬从外州搬进公寓，当时付了January的房租和押金（lease上写明的。）当时我问办公室十二月的半个月的咋么办，那人看了一眼 lease，说，这是for January，然后没有回答。我入住以后，一月1号没有付钱。但到了中旬突然收到一张纸片，让付钱加30元late fee。我觉得不应该付late fee。所以打算二月去办公室申辩（跟公寓的办公室是不同的公司）。但是2月一号去办公室没人，就只留下二月的租金，打算打电话把late fee去掉。结果有时忘了，加上出差，和大雪，今天就收到法庭的传单。要2月26日出庭。我该怎么办？
