I Will Take You Home Kathleen

Song: I Will Take You Home Again Kathleen
Artist: Slim Whitman

I will take you home again Kathleen
Across the ocean wild and wide
To where your heart has ever been

I will take you back Kathleen
When the fields are fresh and green
I will take you to your home Katheleen

I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen is a popular song written by Thomas P. Westendorf in 1875. In spite of its American origins, it is known and revered as an Irish ballad. Westendorf, a school teacher in Plainfield, Indiana, wrote it for his wife (who was, however, named Jennie). It's in the form of an "answer" to a popular ballad of the time, "Barney, Take Me Home Again."(Source: Wikipedia)/>
