 How are you holding up?这句话老美说得很多,说快了他们通常不发are这个音,下面是一些老美关于这句话的解释。
1.This Question asked when you ask someone how he has been doing when they are through a rough time, like break up or losing someone.
2.how are you doing, specifically concerning something difficult in life that has happened to you, like a disease, a loss of someone close, loss of job, something that is sure to cause problems for most people, so we want to make sure that you are doing OK in spite of that.
basically, holding up means not being knocked down (figuratively) by that problem.
3.It means, "How are you doing," or "Are you okay," and is usually said to someone after they've experienced a particularly negative life change, i.e. after the death of a family member, after the person has been very ill, after the person's home was destroyed, etc.
4.A common modern American expression of concern toward someone that has been going through a lot, or that they feel bad for, is under a lot of pressure.
5.It means "how are you doing" but more like how are you dealing with a situation or how are you handling it.
