Paranoid

Leaves won't move with rain soaking it
even in front of strom drain
no, the panicking folks just won't listen
along with city officials, who couldn't mobilize anything before storm
to suck up leave piles or even open up dump station
so neighbors had to act to satisfy some extreme paranoids
Wasted or not, we did what we could
to fill almost 40 bags full, for five tree worth of leaves
until the dark, in the drizzle
good exercise otherwise
but God knows what else might come up in the long winter
snow is going to melt and flood?
or sky is falling any second
perhaps then everyone will stop worrying what else we could do
