I saw the love letter from my mother-in-law to my father-in-law on facebook today and I shed tears while reading it.  Just want to share it with y'all here after I got her permission...

======================================

Love letter to my husband:

I XXXXXX XXXXXXXX, took you XXXXX XXXX to be my husband, to have and to hold from that day forward in September 1977, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from that day forward until death do us part.

We have experienced almost all of the these vows in our marriage. Little did we know as our very young and naive selves that when we repeated them to each other that day that they weren't just traditional words to recite at a wedding ceremony. That they were actually vows being made to each other and to God. That those words meant something important and special.

Now as we come to the time of our lives to honor the final part of our vows, and have truly become one flesh over the years, I am sad and I hurt when you hurt. To stand by you as you get sick over and over, to lay next to you only able to touch your arm or leg for fear of causing you more pain, is the ultimate test of those vows we made so many years ago.

You've been a good husband to me (with a few bumps in the road on both our parts, lol) and as I've watched you grow stronger and stronger in the Lord, you've been my teacher, my protector, and my comfort. You've planted 1000s of seeds in the lives of many and have seen the fruits of your labor for some. Even though you were a fatherless child at a young age, you have been a faithful and obedient son to The Father in these last years.

I hurt for you terribly this morning but have no regrets about choosing to marry you and if I had the choice, I would do it ll over again, in a heartbeat.
