This was my 10th Thanksgiving
Without detailed plans, my son and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year.
We had a very relaxing Thursday, the Thanksgiving Day. We didn’t do much except some house chores. He was very helpful. Hiking was scheduled on Friday, the black Friday. We were not huge fans of shopping; hiking in a mountain not far away from the city was an excellent idea. The weather was gorgeous, mild and sunny. We were very happy to get some physical exercises. My son had his first ever piano class on Friday night then. He has been very excited since our piano was delivered after super storm Sandy. He was looking forward to his first class. And he has been practicing fairly a lot. Yesterday was our grocery shopping day. We shopped in Chinese market and Costco. Nothing was really exciting except it was flurrying on our way back. I planned to watch the movie “Life of Pi” today and we did. I haven’t watched a movie in a theater for a couple years. The last one I watched was “Lust, Caution” in OH. Coincidently, both movies were directed by the famous director Ang Lee. My son has yet watched a movie in a theater, not to mention a 3D one. And this is a good one for him to get started for this story is about survival in adversities and hope. The movie was fantastic and he enjoyed the story, animals and the astonishing 3D visual effects regardless of a couple unexpected scenes. It doesn’t matter if he understands the multisided themes presented in the movie as a 7-year old.
