40. The Saving Paradox

"The more you buy, the more you save!" So goes the slogan of merchants during the holiday shopping season to promote their sales. However, if you don't spend at all, you can even save the discounted prices of those items, can't you? I guess that every experienced, savvy shopper would have solved this apparent paradox sooner or later. Have you?
