She told me we would talk for 45 min, but we ended up getting carried away and talked for almost 2 hours. The Yale interview single-handily swayed me away from Harvard and cemented Yale as my 1st choice! Interview most likely was the tipping factor!Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted: Columbia, Dartmouth, Ohio State UniversityWaitlisted: Penn (Wharton), Carnegie Mellon, PrincetonRejected: Harvard, MITWaiting on results from NYU, not that it matters!General Comments: PINCH ME, I'M DREAMING!!! Thanks all of you for the congratilations. I am sharing more info here. We think the interview is the most tricky part. The interview from H was Ok and he said he will recommend my son. But this interviewer is a newly graduated and doing this kind of work first time. He only interviewed my son. My son got deferred from H in Dec and then rejected. The interviewer from MIT said he will not recommend my son because he thinks my son is not that kind of nerdy MIT student with very good academics. He is rejected from MIT. The interview from Y and Dartmouth were very good and last much longer than planned. Both interviewers are having many years of experience of interviewing potentical students and they said they will highly recommend my son. Then he got likely letter from D in early March and get admitted to Y.The interview from P was average and he is waitlisted. No interview required from Columbia, UPenn or CMU. We feel there is some luckness that if you are the type of person which interviewer like, you have much higher chance. So applying to more colleges will increase your chance to meet your type of interviewer, but requires more time to spend on writing essay. We have a lesson learned that if we begin to prepare some general topic draft essays, it would help. facebook和college confidential
