As always, I played with my two lovely daughters last Wednesday after work. I love to play with my two kids. To me, it is a great fun and a very good physical excise after work. At the dinnertime, I held them in my arms and carried them downstairs. At the last step, I slipped and fell down. I broke my leg. I fell horrible and it is hurting me too much. I could not stand up.
Amazingly my two kids were not injured at all. They rode on me believing that I am playing a horse with them as I usually do. Suddenly I realized that I tried my very best not to let them hurt while I was falling down and the leg was broken. It is a very basic instinct as a father.
By then, my elder daughter of 8 years realized that I was injured. She helped me up with my another leg. And she asked me “ Are you ok, daddy? Do you need to see a doctor? Do we need to call mommy?” “ No, honey, daddy is ok.” said I, trying not to scare her. She set up the table for me with a ball of rice, chopsticks, and a glass of water and napkins. After dinner, she helped me to bed. And she said “ daddy, I feel very very sorry for you.” I guess that she realized how serious the injury was with my pale face of hurting.
When my wife was home, my little one of 4 years old said, “Mommy, I am worrying about daddy. Is daddy ok?” My wife and I were so touched and moved. They are just so lovely and so sweet. Without telling them, they love their daddy so much. Yes, some love is basic instinct of human being.
