STOCKHOLM - Anthony Johnson will soon challenge UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones after securing a devastating first-round victory over one-time title challenger Alexander Gustafsson. http://www.chiefsteamprostore.com/Youth-Frank-Zombo-Elite-Jersey/ .The contest served as the headlining bout of Saturdays UFC Fight Night: Gustafsson vs. Johnson, which took place in front of an announced 26,000 fans at Stockholms Tele2 Arena.Johnson (19-4) came out aggressively in the first round, looking to pressure his taller, more mobile opponent. Gustafsson (16-3) evaded well to start, avoiding any of his opponents heavy power shots. But after Gustafsson inadvertently poked his foes right eye, everything changed. After being given a brief timeout, Johnson pressed forward and immediately scored with a devastating right hand that sent Gustafsson to his knees. As the lanky Swede tried desperately to regain his footing, Johnson unleashed a vicious barrage of punches that left Gustafsson unable to recover. Referee Marc Goddard gave Gustafsson every possible chance to recover in front of his home audience, but the fight was ultimately waved off at the 2:15 mark of the first frame.Jon Jones, I hope you get well brother, Johnson said after the win. Lets get this championship on and make the crowd excited about this.In the nights co-feature, top middleweight contender Gegard Mousasi (36-5-2) earned a quick, albeit somewhat controversial, TKO win over former Strikeforce and PRIDE champion Dan Henderson (30-13).Mousasi, 15 years younger than his opponent, looked to be the quicker fighter to start, and he used a long jab to establish range early. His speed advantage was evident to start, and it was obvious Henderson was going to need to rely on his powerful right hand to win the fight. Unfortunately for him, when he threw hit, Mousasi slipped the punch and countered with a right hand to the top of the head that sent Henderson wobbling to the canvas.Mousasi followed and, though he didnt land any clean shots once the fight was on the floor, referee Leon Roberts decided Henderson had seen enough and halted the bout. Not fully aware of his surroundings, Henderson wound up wrestling the referee, seeming to support the officials call. However, the crowd vehemently protested the end.I thought it was a good stoppage, Mousasi said after the win. Right when he went down, I would have been able to put another punch in it, but I didnt because I thought the referee would stop it. And then I thought, Well, maybe they arent going to stop it, so I kept punching afterwards. So I think it was a good stoppage. In a key light heavyweight contest, Ryan Bader (19-4) earned a hard-fought split-decision win over fellow wrestling standout Phil Davis (13-3).Neither fighter was able to really establish much momentum in the contest, with Davis trying to stay at distance other than nine missed takedown attempts in the 15-minute affair. Meanwhile, Bader preferred a boxing attack, but he seldom was able to put together extended strings of attacks. A restless crowd booed the frequent stalemates, and judges werent given much to score, but two of the three judges ruled in Baders favour, and he was awarded a split-decision victory. It was a split decision, but I walked out with a win, so Im happy, Bader said after the fight. Performance-wise, I felt like I was a bit sloppy at times. Hes obviously a really good wrestler. His standup is just sporadic. At the end of the day, I came out of there with a win and I got the job done.In the nights first main-card matchup, featherweight Sam Sicilia (14-5) scored a devastating first-round knockout of Swedish fighter Akira Corassani (12-6).Corassani was moving well to start the fight, shifting laterally on the outside and darting in and out of range. But as he started to open up on the feet, Sicilia clipped him with a devastating overhand right that sent Corassani crashing to the floor. Sicilia followed with more punches, but the bout was already over at the 3:26 mark of the first round.Thats the most comfortable Ive ever felt in the octagon, Sicilia said after the win. I really felt I had it together this time. The crowd was giving me high fives on the way out. They just wanted to see a good fight, so it was really cool. http://www.chiefsteamprostore.com/Youth-Len-Dawson-Elite-Jersey/ . "Because this a money generating asset, theyre under no pressure, I would assume, to sell," said Norm OReilly, a professor of sports business at the University of Ottawa. MORITZ, Switzerland - Lindsey Vonn won a World Cup super-combined event Friday to extend her lead in the overall standings over second-place Tina Maze. The American defended her lead from the morning downhill with a solid slalom leg to win in a combined two-run time of two minutes 28.35 seconds. Maze was 0.41 seconds back and third-place Nicole Hosp of Austria trailed Vonn by 0.58. "It was a really satisfying win," Vonn said. "I was happy with my downhill run but I knew it was going to be tough to hang on." Vonn earned 100 World Cup points for the victory and now leads Maze by 302. "It was really important today," Vonn said. "If I were to go out (in slalom), I knew that Tina would be within striking distance so I had to stay on the podium. I tried to ski smart." Maze said she lost the race by trailing 1.41 behind Vonn in downhill. "I tried to be fast and be close to Lindsey," the Slovenian said. "I lost too much time. Super-combined is like that, and if you dont do well in one (discipline), you lose." Vonns 48th career World Cup win on a perfect sunny day for racing also got her bid for a third straight season-long super-combined title off to a successful start. She now has seven victories this season as she seeks to recapture the overall crown. Vonn held her nerve when Maze and Hosp put down the two fastest slalom runs, after they had placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the downhill. "It definitely wasnt pretty skiing, but I made it," Vonn said. "Theree arent many parts of slalom Im good at, but on the flats is one of them.http://www.chiefsteamprostore.com/Youth-Eric-Fisher-Elite-Jersey/. " Elisabeth Goergl of Austria had been second in downhill, 0.61 behind Vonn, but skied out in the slalom. It proved another disappointing day for defending overall champion Maria Hoefl-Riesch, the Olympic champion in super-combined. The German was third in the morning but made a big mistake midway down the slalom gates and had to hike back up the snow to resume her run. Hoefl-Riesch was 21st, more than five seconds down, and has yet to win a race this season after denying Vonn a fourth straight overall title last year. Hosp won the overall crown in 2006-07 before Vonns winning streak began, but has sustained a series of injuries since. The 28-year-old Austrian got her first podium finish this season, and just her second since March 2009. American teammates Leanne Smith and Julia Mancuso dropped in the standings after being fourth- and fifth-fastest in downhill. Mancuso, the Olympic silver medallist in super-combined, finished 13th, 3.82 behind Vonn. Smith placed 18th, 4.74 back. Both were upbeat about their prospects in Saturdays marquee downhill race. "I tried to push it today to see where I can be perfect for (Saturday)," said Mancuso, who is seventh in the overall standings. "Im happy with where I am." The St. Moritz races conclude Sunday with the second of the seasons three scheduled super-combined events. Its a makeup for a cancelled race last month at Val dIsere, France, and comprises super-G and slalom legs. Cheap Jerseys Wholesale JerseysWholesale Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '
