The Gracie Diet, Time-Restricted Eating, etc.

I have tried the Gracie Diet (www.graciediet.com)

for about three months during which I have two or

three meals a day.

One key import for me was no food without relish.

The diet dictates that an adult put at least four

and a half hours between meals. I respond very

well to this kind of quantatative rules.

I have tried the food-combination rules and felt

that mixing too many varieties in one meal does

seem to burden the digestive system. Having a

single kind of fruit or starch for a meal feels

clean. I become more aware and increasingly plan

my meals.

I need to experiment and expand the food lists

prescribed in Rorion Gracie's book and find out

why pork and pickles are banned. He is from Brazil

and probably knows not much about kimchi.

On top of the GD, I have recently tried

Time-Ristricted Eating, to get all my eating done

within 9 to 10 hours during the day.  According to

Dr. Rhonda Patrick, this helps endurance and

muscle growth. At the moment, pushing off morning

coffee to after 10:00am turns out to be hard.

So far, this diet (a life-style really) has fixed

my snacking/grazing and over-eating problems and

my weight stays easily below 145 lbs. My next

experiment is to try juicing which I hope can help

Dad.
