Emma Watson debuts the new sweetheart neckline at the L.A premiere of Beauty and the Beast

Emma Watson took to the red carpet in LA last night on the latest leg of her Beauty and the Beast promotional tour. The actress became the latest star to wear a look from the debut collection from Oscar de la Renta's new creative directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia.

Her sleekly tailored jumpsuit offered a sharp contrast to the fairytale, caped gown which she wore for the London premiere last week which was a bespoke creation by Emilia Wickstead.

Last night's ensemble had a glamorous yet minimalist feel thanks to its pointed-V shaped bustier and single rose gold brooch adornment at the hip. She paired the jumpsuit with the black pointed stilettos by Burberry, which she has been wearing throughout the promotional tour as part of her support of the '30 wears' initiative which is spearheaded by Eco Age, the London-based sustainable fashion consultancy. The simple premise is that we should only buy something if we can be sure we'll wear it 30 times.

This isn't the first outfit de la Renta's new team have created for Watson's Beauty and the Beast appearances. In Paris two weeks ago, she opted for a richly embellished bustier with vibrant red sash detail and black cigarette trousers also from Kim and Garcia's New York fashion week show, which took place in February.

Their modern, polished spin on the Park Avenue Princess look for which the label is renowned has been a resounding hit on the red carpets. At the Oscars, last years' best actress winner Brie Larson topped best-dressed lists in her black, velvet ruffled gown which came with the same pointed version of the sweetheart neckline as Watson's jumpsuit last night. Later on Oscars night, best actress nominee Ruth Negga graced the after-party circuit in a strapless, cream, bell-skirt gown with flashes of brightly-coloured sequins.

Watson is documenting all of her looks on a dedicated Instagram account - @the_press_tour - where each outfit's sustainable credentials are meticulously described. "She is truly an inspiration; so passionate about important issues and I have so much admiration for her," the designer Emilia Wickstead told The Telegraph last week. "I love that Emma feels comfortable in her own skin, that she is humble and real to work with and that she goes out of her way to empower women and for what she believes in. She is bright and brilliant to be around - it's an honour to have dressed such a strong, young female role model and hero of today in one of my designs. Women for women!"

Watson's premiere appearance came in the wake of a row which erupted earlier this week when images were released from a shoot which she appears in in the latest Vanity Fair. The star is shown wearing just a rope capelet by Burberry, prompting some to accuse her of hypocrisy by posing 'topless' in spite of her feminist principles.
