I do not have neither leadership nor social skills, but I do recognize them when I see them. During her high school years, every day before she headed out in the morning, I would ask her what she was going to do on that day. Very often, she would say that she had to go to a meeting during her lunch hour, either meeting with her peers, or meeting with one of her teachers. She really did not like some of these meetings or some meeting participants, but she did not make any excuses for wanting to avoid them. She faced her challenges head-on.
Her teachers have expressed their desires to invite her back to their classrooms to talk to their students about stuff. That is a well-deserved compliment.
