Brief Introduction of the Work:

Two thousand years ago, Mohism, once one of the three outstanding schools in the Warring States Period, disappeared mysteriously in the long history. Thirty years ago, grandpa, an expert in Mohist studies, received a mysterious letter from a folk scholar who said he occasionally obtained a manuscript which is the authentic work a great Mohist leader in the period of the Republic of China. The manuscript tells some fantastic Mohist secrets. Grandpa went to investigate, but when he came back, he unexpectedly announced that he had abandoned Mohist studies, which he loved for half his life.

Thirty years later, grandpa died mysteriously. ZHANG Zicheng, a young police and I found strange clues left behind by grandpa at the scene of his victimization, an old photograph, pocket watch and a note with a numerical password. At the same time, we unexpectedly met Moqi, who could tame horned viper, and the man in black with a mysterious weapon that we had never seen before. From their fierce conflicting dialogue, we find that both of them are descendants of Mohist.

Two thousand years ago, the Mohist School had three parts of the world: Mohist School of the State of Qi hided the most deeply, with no trace in history. Mohist School of the State of Qin was abandoned by Mo-tse, but the truth was not so simple as betrayal. Mohist School of the State of Chu established Yinling Religion and spread it secretly by way of opening up and introducing disciples. They adhered to Mo-tse's idea of "prosper everything benefiting the world, remove everything harming the world", and changed the trend of history through fantastic Mohist plots and Mohist tactics. For example, ZHANG Liang obtained the Plain Bookfrom HUANG Shigong and assisted LIU Bang in overthrowing the Qin Dynast. The Plain Book was the most important of the three books of Mohist School of the State of Chu. At the same time, the Mohist School of the State of Chu established by Mo-tse himself in his later years also hides and protects the deepest secret of Mohist School in Yinling Cave.

The death of grandpa led to Mohist School of the State of Qin, which has existed for thousands of years. As they found Yinling Cave and wanted to get Mo-tse's secret, they took me to Huashan Riddle Cave. When we opened the city of Mohist machine-operated traps in Yinling Cave, we saw subtle machine-operated traps, amazing tactical formations, lost sculpture technologies and beasts strangely fed by Mohist. The incredible world of Mohist finally unveiled its mystery after thousands of years of immersion. What shocked us is that our mission in the reincarnation of fate has already been doomed. What makes the whole world boiling is not only the secret of Mo-tse hidden in the Mohist organ city...

Hidden Mohist (The secrets of the Mohist which has been silent for two thousand years were unveiled. The most special occupation around you is decrypted.)

1.  A Letter of 30 Years Ago

My grandfather, surnamed Luo, is an excellent geography professor. In the 1980s, he published in a national journal an academic article on a conjecture about Mohist. Mohist was one of the three outstanding schools in the Warring States Period and was prosperous in a short period of time. After the Qin Dynasty, it lost its light for unknown reasons and disappeared into the long history. Over the past two thousand years, there have been few history books recording Mohist.

SIMA Qian’s Records of the Historianonly recorded 24 words. The Book named Hidden Taoismof the Qing Dynasty contains some Mohist contents, which are only minor details. Because of the broken records of Mohism in history and the present situation that there is no trace to follow, grandpa's article did not attracted the attention of domestic academic circles.

However, in the second week after publishing the article, grandpa received an incredible letter. The content of the letter was very simple, but he was so excited that he kept himself in his study for two days and two nights without coming out. The contents of the letter are as follows:

Dear Professor Luo:

Hello!

Two weeks ago, I read your article about Mohism in the newspaper, and I was very excited. A few years ago, I unexpectedly got a manuscript whose author was unknown. The process is coincidental. All kinds of details are saved. The manuscript involves many mysterious Mohist secrets.

As I cannot distinguish the true from the false, the contents are not convincing, and even involve some so-called superstitions, it is not proper to publicize the seminar of Mohism to the public. Now I see that you, as a geographer, have put forward some geographically proven remarks, so I can't help but write this letter to you, hoping that you can help me with those puzzles ...

Folk Scholars of Mohist on May 15, 1984

I don't know what grandpa did in his study in those two days. Two days later, at noon, he suddenly rushed out with an old suitcase and told Grandma that he was going to go on a long journey. He also said that he had discovered an earth-shaking secret. If he could continue to investigate, he might become the person in history closest to the truth of Mohism. Grandma was irritated as grandpa might have said this to her seven or eight times, Grandma said, “you are not a historian. Why do you study Mohist!” Grandpa became furious and the old couple fell out on the spot. Grandpa threw off his sleeves, and he walked away for more than a month without any news. Just as the family was busy calling the police for help, grandpa suddenly came back.

Grandpa stood at the door in ragged clothes, unkempt face, dark face, in a trance. He fell asleep on the sofa as soon as he entered the door. Grandma saw that he had many strange symbols on his body, as if someone had carved them with a knife. Some scars had not recovered. They were inflamed, red and swollen. She was so distressed that she wanted to wipe them while crying. When she touched him, grandpa suddenly woke up and covered her body, saying that it was the most precious thing in the world recorded by him with a knife. She could never touch it! After that, he rushed into the study and locked the door. There was a sound of rumbling about the documents inside. Grandma cried and telephoned my dad saying that grandpa was crazy. My dad came through the night and opened the door only to have found grandpa lying on the cement floor of his study and falling asleep again. They put grandpa to bed and waited for a day and a night. Grandpa finally opened his eyes!

He told my father and grandmother that it took him almost a month to find the folk scholar and meet him in a county town near Xi'an. The scholar could not wait to ask him a lot of questions firstly, then sighed and said that he thought the manuscript was unusual. He dug a hole in the wall and hid it. Later, a flood in the village washed away the wall and also the manuscript. He only kept a few abstracts recorded by him and he was willing to give them to grandpa if grandpa needs them. Grandpa glanced over the abstract on the spot and thought it was meaningless. Grandpa asked him to keep them well and then left.

My father and my grandmother stared at him, wondering whether what he said was true or false. Does he think we are all fools? But grandpa just told them so and kept silent about his wounds and other things. What is more puzzling is that after that, in the next 30 years, grandpa unexpectedly abandoned his enthusiasm for pursuing the truth of Mohist for half his life.

Until my 20th birthday, it turned back unexpectedly, and life began to change dramatically.

2. Accident

grandpa has always been in good health. Although he is over 70 years old, he always goes on business to give lectures. On my 20th birthday, my father suddenly cried and called me and told me that grandpa’s body was found in Huxian County, Xi'an. My father was coming back from abroad. At that time I was studying in Xi'an Jiaotong University. As soon as I heard the bad news, I rushed to the scene.

The morgue was crowded with policemen. Grandpa’s body was horrible. There was no complete piece of flesh on his body. It seemed that he had been brutally shaved. I wept in front of his terrible body.

I was taken to the public security bureau for the record and routine investigation. A policeman of my age took me to an office. He is handsome with a fair complexion and two big eyes that could not be idle for a moment, always looking east and west.

The policeman handed me a cigarette and patted me comfortably on my shoulder.

"Don't be too sad, Xiao Luo. Aren't we all born to death?"

"Is it murder? Why are there so many policemen? I asked him red-eyed.

The young policeman shook his head and looked puzzled.

"Do you know why your grandfather came here?"

"Is it about his school?"

The young policeman shook his head.

"It seems that he was acting in secret. Do you know that he is a frequent guest in Huxian County?

"Frequent guest?" I was surprised to open my mouth. I didn't know the legendary story of grandpa in the 1980s.

"The villagers found him near Ma'anling in Qingliangshan, which should have happened last night. His chest was pierced. The thing which pierced him was a bit strange. I can't tell you the details yet." The young policeman wanted to stop talking. He handed me some pictures of the scene and picked up his pen and book. "Look, can you give us any clues?"

I saw grandpa lying in the mud in the picture and his clothes were almost worn out. I felt sad again.  Suddenly, my eyes fell on a picture of grandpa's upper body. I saw his right hand. The thumb and ring finger stayed together and the other three fingers were straight. I remember this gesture. When I was a child, grandpa and I played hide-and-seek at grandpa's house. It was a special gesture of us, suggesting that Grandma's hiding place was the study. Did he make this gesture on his deathbed by accident or by implication?

" LUO Mofu, your name is very interesting. Did your grandfather give it to you?" The young policeman didn't notice the change of expression on my face. And I nodded.

"Thirty years ago, Mr. Luo was the pillar of the Chinese Mohist Society and had some reputation abroad. For some reason, he suddenly abandoned study on Mohist studies. Your name really makes me fall into a reverie. In Guangya, “Fu” means “hiding”. LUO Mofu, did your grandfather tell you about Mohism?

"I haven't heard of him. Why do you ask?

"Did you hear that Mo-tse wrote a fantastic book?"

"TheMohist Canon?" Grandpa didn't talk about it, but I took Chinese Studies as a freshman.

"No, it's Mo-tse's Five Elements, which roughly means Mo-tse's skills of change. The major work of skills of change is Mo-tse's Five Elements which consists of five volumes. With drugs and charms, it enables people to fly up and down, hide oneself in uncertain state, change into a smiling women, change into a old man, squat and change into a child, hold a crabstick and there are forests immediately, make melons and fruits just planted become ripe and edible immediately, scratch a land lot and it becomes river, change a handful of earth turns into a mountain, sit still and summon all kinds of delicacies, it may summon clouds and set fires and do everything.

"Can you stop talking about it?" I got agitated and stood up. "Who killed my grandpa? Isn't that what you should do? Does Mohist have anything to do with this case? Are you incapable of using metaphysics to settle a case?”

The young policeman was irritated after hearing what I said, and suddenly stood up. "Don't think we do nothing" It's because the weapon that stabbed your grandpa can't exist in our time. It has a lot to do with Mohism."

"Shit, you really want to use metaphysics to close the case!"

When the two of us were shouting, there was a sudden noise outside. Many villagers gathered outside the window with furious looks. It seemed that they would fight with the policeman at the door.

"Don't go out." The young policeman walked out nervously. I heard a snap and he locked me inside. I was shocked. Could it be that these villagers came for me? I pepped out the window.

Among the villagers, there was a big and tall young man at the age of more than 20 years old, who had an indescribable affinity and wisdom on his face that did not match his age. His eyes were different from those of all the people I had met. There was a melancholy and gentle mood slowly flowing between his eyes. This is an unforgettable face, because handsome can not be used to describe this man, although it is a face that looks very standard and handsome. I think the strength on his face is more suitable for the word of “charming”!

The man was like the leader among them. The villagers kept glancing at him and asking for his advice.

I pried a crack in the window and their voice became clear.

"I didn't expect this old fellow to come here every year. He has have ulterior motives!"

"Damned! He deceived us for more than 30 years by acting like a good person!"

"Murderer!! The thieves who steal things deserve to die. That's retribution!!

"Let his family return it to us. Otherwise, the whole Dongya Village will not spare them! Isn't his grandson here? We will kill him if he does not return the things to us.”

It was really against me. I was shocked. I couldn't help lowering my head an inch. My grandfather had an accident, and I unexpectedly became the target of public criticism.

"Enough! Dare you kill anyone at the gate of the Public Security Bureau?" Several policemen kept order at the door. “We have enough troubles. Don't bother us. Go back at once! Tianci, you are learned. You can't be the same as them! "

GENG Tianci took out an old book and an envelope from his bosom and handed it carefully to the elderly policeman. His movements were soft and gentle, and the charm between his hands and his feet was still indescribable. "This is what Goudanzi just gave me. He said he had drunk too much last night and forgot to bring it.” The policeman changed his face. He turned round quickly and got into the building. Soon my door was opened and he handed the letter to me.

"Is it your grandfather's handwriting?"

I felt strange and took the letter. It looked like grandpa's handwriting. It was dated two days ago. The letter was short and addressed to a man named GENG Tianci.

The content of the letter is that 30 years ago, GENG Tianci's father GENG Xiang wrote a letter to him in detail, saying that he had got a manuscript about Mohism. Grandpa came all the way to Huxian County to meet him, but he said that the handbook was gone. With his ability to observe cultivated over years, grandpa confirmed that GENG Xiang was lying. Because of his deep love for Mohism, grandpa did not go home immediately, but followed him. As such a big affair happened in the daytime, GENG Xiang definitely would have a discussion with his family. So in the evening, grandpa sneaked under their window to try his luck and heard that GENG Xiang quarrel fiercely with his wife. GENG Xiang detailed that it shows that this manuscript must be valuable treasure that the scientist in the city came in person. We must hide it well. His wife scolded him for having a demon in his heart. His son Tianci was just born.

It's the right thing to raise a family by planting well. He can't understand this stuff. So it's better to give it to the scientist for study. GENG Xiang scolded his wife for lack of vision, indicating that he would go to find a place to hide it tomorrow. His wife said he could not find somewhere else. It must be his master grave.

Grandpa did a few days of ideological struggle, feeling that it was a waste to hide the manuscript.

Out of his stubborn love for history, grandpa hesitated for many days. Finally, he couldn't help but make a mistake. He secretly returned to Huxian County and found what the main grave as GENG Xiang's wife said. He found the manuscript, dug it out and took it away. It is more immoral to touch the mater grave than to steal the treasure of others. After going back home, grandpa felt guilty. He could not endure the condemnation of conscience and gave up his research. He was afraid that his work and reputation would be affected, so he dared not bring it back. Later, grandpa heard that GENG Xiang could not find the manuscript there and got mad. He fell down the mountain and died. Grandpa felt even guiltier. He thought he had indirect responsibility, so he always took care of GENG Xiang's family secretly.

Grandpa said that he was over 60 years old and had suffered psychological torture for over half his life. He didn't want to die with the secret not unveiled. So, he decided to tell the old story frankly, hoping to get the forgiveness of GENG Xiang's family and return the manuscript to them.

I was startled and suddenly remembered something and slapped the table.

"Grandpa returned his notebook and then he was killed. Did they do it? Look at how angry they are now. We should investigate them carefully, especially the one named GENG Tianci!" I told the policeman that it should be the handwriting of my grandpa, but this is exactly the motive of the case.

The elder policeman did not reply. He stood up and took out a file bag from the file cabinet behind him and put it in front of me. The file was written with two big words, suspended case! I opened it curiously and found that the victim's name was GENG Tianci's father GENG Xiang.

"They're so excited because GENG Xiang didn't fall down and die by himself. According to the posture of his fall and the signs before his death, the expert gave the result that he was pushed down the hill by force. There have been no suspects and no witnesses for 30 years. GENG Xiang is very respected in the village. Villagers have been complaining about us because the murderer has not been found. This is our most troublesome suspense case.

I think could it be that grandpa changes from a victim to a murderer of 30 years ago. Seeing the worn manuscript in the hands of the elder policeman, I wondered why they still shouted at us to return the stolen things.

Just as I was thinking about it, a big brick smashed the glass outside the window and flew in. The crack in the window I had just broken was widened by someone outside. A villager saw me and shouted at once.

"His grandson is here!" Several villagers shouted and jumped in from outside. One of them came up, grabbed my collar and shouted.

"Give us back the two treasures and three books! Otherwise, you don't even want to leave here!"

"Stop it!" The old policeman stood up suddenly, but the scene was out of control.

"What two treasures and three books?" I suddenly thought of grandpa's posture on his deathbed. What treasures did grandpa steal? Are they in my study?

"Don't make a pretence! Your grandfather is an expert in Mohism. You don’t know two treasures and three books?!!” One of them came up and slapped me. I felt stinging in the face. "Your grandfather is a thief, and you are definitely not a good person!"

That villager wanted to beat me again and I kicked him away with one foot. When I was 9 years old, my mother sent me to Shaolin Martial Arts School. She did not agree me to give up halfway even if I felt very tired and hard. After a few years, I was in better health and I also trained myself with good kungfu. But my fighting back was unwise. They were so irrational that a group of people came rushing towards me madly.
