Feeling lucky
by JessAB
I can't believe that it has been over 25 years since I first stepped onto the soil of this country. Looking back my life, often time I feel so fortunate to have such a great and sustainable career that I have enjoyed for more than 20 years and counting. I still remember getting my first job working at A company seemed so easy. All thanks to my graduate advisor for his strong recommendations based on my skills and good personality rather my race and gender. I am extremely grateful to him for giving me the opportunity to start my career with this great company. After that, I found the opportunities to work for a few other top companies.
Working in Corporate America has been great experiences for me. I have learned that both technical skills and behaviors such as good communication, collaboration, innovation and leadership skill play important roles in own career development.
I have worked at my current company for 20 years. I like to use my brain, my knowledge and experience to solve the challenging and the unknown problems. I never like doing routine, tedious and repetitive things. Who said that time seems to pass quickly when you are having a good time? I think that holds quite true. This is a great company to work for with all the resources, the good culture, and not to mention the top-notch benefits. But that is not all. The more important to me is that I have a group of wonderful people to work with, and the work that is interesting, challenging. Enjoyable work makes me feel excited, energetic and fulfilled.
I think woman can have both a family and a good career. Having a balanced, effective and productive life leads to happiness.
