NARA上一个档案：“Chinese Visitors Talking to NARA [National Archives and Records Administration] Staff in the Federal Record Center Stack Area”，ID=29011112，只有一张图，下面说明：“This item was produced or created on November 7, 1990”。所以，中国很早就知道NARA而且去过。不知去的是国内哪个单位，后来在哪些方面有合作，或者用NARA的资料。
中国人访问美国国家档案馆 1990，架子上很多纸质，都是原始档案，下面还有很多箱子没有打开。
