I'm reading David Copperfield on my Kobo ereader today. It reminds me of the little picture book that I used to own, adapted from this saga of Charles Dickens. I remember vividly the picture of a stormy night when the two major characters were fighting over the shore. But the real novel is so, so much better.
I remember the books you presented. I remember the Japanese movie that was shown in your picture books, it was aired in China probably from 1978 to 1979. I was a very young child back then. I don't know why the movie was such a sensation. To me it was downright boring! I think the picture books I owned are probably all gone after I left and our old house demolished. There's a vivid memory left on me though, from the scenes inside the books.
